Dracut lies along the north bank of the Merrimack River, across from Lowell and bordering New Hampshire. Its southern sections, including the old mill villages of Collinsville and Navy Yard, sit close to the city along Beaver Brook, while the northern part of town still has farmland, orchards and woodland.
