Sudbury is a historic town west of Boston where colonial roads, stone walls and broad wetlands along the Sudbury River set the tone. The town center, with its white meetinghouse and old cemetery, sits at the crossing of Routes 27 and 117, while Route 20 carries most of the commercial activity across the southern half of town. Longfellow’s Wayside Inn anchors the far southwest corner.
Most homes here are single-family colonials, capes and contemporaries on wooded lots, with antique houses along the older roads and a range of condominium and townhouse communities. Route 20 and Route 117 are the main east to west roads, with Route 27 running north to south through the center. Route 128 and I-495 are each a manageable drive away, and the Massachusetts Turnpike is reached through Framingham. Commuter rail stations in nearby towns offer service to Boston.
